The main plan, very clear and easy-to-read, covers the Old Town and its immediate surrounding area, including the city’s great galleries (Glyptothek, Old and New Pinakothek and Lembachhaus), English Gardens, the Museum Island and the Gasteig complex. U- and S-Bahn stations and car parks are marked, as well as selected hotels, particularly around the central railway station. Places of interest are clearly highlighted.

On the reverse is a selection of maps and plans for visitors to the city, including a plan of Nymphenburg Palace with its grounds, a plan of the international airport and a diagram of the U-and S-Bahn networks, each accompanied by descriptions or comments.

A map of the city with its immediate environs shows motorway access to the airport, and a wider map of southern Bavaria, extending north to Würzburg and Bamberg, highlights main tourist routes, Romantic Road, Alpine Road, etc. and other places of interest including the palaces of Ludwig II, Wieskirche, etc.

Also included is a brief description of the city and its main historical sites and places of interest, plus useful tips and information on opening house, etc.
