Comprehensive paperback street atlas of the whole city, with background information and practical advice for visitors. Initially, 8 pages cover the whole city area in a relatively generalised fashion at approx 1:71,000, then the built-up area within the city boundary is covered on 78 pages at 1:22,500 or 1:11,600 depending on the street density. The cartography is in black and white, but clearly and concisely designed. Road detail highlights main roads and distinguishing roads with unsealed surfaces. Other detail includes railways and stations, pedestrian bridges, rivers, area or estate names, forest/national park boundaries, hospitals, schools, selected building numbers and symbols for hotels, golfcourses, gates, churches, temples, mosques, cinemas, post offices and embassies. Many other notable, public or commercial buildings are also named. An additional 3 maps portray the development of the city in the early 20th century, and there is also a plan of the pre 1960s layout in the city centre, showing many street names that have now changed.

The general information on the city’s geography, history, climate, population and urban development is followed by 13 pages of useful notes for visitors on diverse topics eg. entertainments, recommended day-trips from the city, museums and libraries, media, services and utilities, general medical considerations and transport. The extensive index section covers not only roads, districts and estates, but also many other locations and facilities eg. government buildings, embassies, hospitals, hotels, cultural facilities, places of worship, markets and shopping centres.
