The 110x78cm Cape York map shows all the roads, towns and rivers in the area. Also shown are tourist symbols to show locations of accommodation, camping, petrol, post-offices and airfields etc. Also on the map are text boxes explaining points about the area, as well as warnings against getting lost and breaking-down etc. Two insert maps show in larger scale parts of the northern part of the Western Australian coastline. The other side has a large map of northern Australia, extending from Fraser island in the east to Mt Talbot in the west and thence north to the coast to include all of the Northern Territory and most of Qweensland. As with the Cape York map this one has all the roads, railways, airfields etc shown along with cities and towns and the usual plethora of useful tourist symbols and text boxes. The general northern Australia map is overlain with a longitude and latitude grid at two degree intervals, with the Cape York map having longitude and latitude margin ticks at one degree intervals.
