Paris in the Directions series from Rough Guides; pocket-sized guides to a range of international regions and cities, practically designed to help visitors make the most of their trip. Ideal for shorter breaks of around a week, the guides cover the principal areas, towns and neighbourhoods within a region or city. Each section contains concise listings for what to see and do, as well as details of selected restaurants, cafés, shops and the local nightlife. Background information on history and culture is also provided, while the city guides also include sections on possible local excursions.

The city guides contain a dedicated Accommodation section - in regional guides, accommodation listings are given within each area or town listing. Each guide begins with an Ideas section, listing the top sights, activities and events for a variety of themes and tastes. An Essentials section gives practical guidance on transport and travel information, seasonal events, general historical background and essential phrases and language tips.
