These Michelin Street Plans offer high-scale mapping of Paris. Usually between 1:8,000 & 1:20,500, they are detailed, clear & easy to read street plans with indexes. Higher-scale maps show all roads, streets & passageways; lower-scale maps are less detailed & do not show some minor roads & alleys. Road types are clearly marked, including motorways, dual carriageways, complex junctions, areas subject to restrictions, one-way streets and pedestrian areas. Additional road/street details such as footpaths, bridges, tunnels, arches & pedestrian subways is normally shown.
Land use is shown through shading, indicating built-up areas, parkland, undeveloped land and industrial areas. Public buildings including churches, public galleries & museums, hospitals and government buildings are highlighted, and separate highlighting shows other selected building of interest/significance.
A range of symbols denote features & places of tourist interest, often including zoos, monuments, museums, theatres, covered markets, and sport & leisure facilities such as golf courses, gymnasiums & sports grounds. Practical facilities such as hospitals, police, tourist information points, post offices & telephones are also shown.
For most locations, transportation information is also mapped, showing stations & lines for city rail, tram & metro services. Taxi ranks & parking are also marked. Multilingual legend includes English. No topographical information is shown.
