About the series:
A contoured topographic map series based on the Survey of India, compiled by the American military in the 1950's. These colour maps have contours at 500-foot intervals and show roads, tracks and names of small settlements. An India grid is shown at 10,000 yard intervals, latitude and longitude being shown by margin ticks and cross hairs at intervals of 15'.
The series covers Nepal, Indian Himalaya and the Karakoram. In the border areas of China, the maps show contours plus rivers and streams, but include very few place names.
