Lowland marsh areas are distinguished and provincial & district boundaries and nature reserves are marked. Driving distances are marked on main roads and main railways are marked. Symbols denote prominent places of worship, beaches and sites of interest eg museums and ruins. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 30' intervals.
An inset at 1:12,000 shows the streets of central Kandy.
On the reverse is an indexed street map of Colombo at 1:15,000 and a map of the Nuwara Eliya highland region at 1:100,000. There is also a map at 1:25,000 showing more of Kandy and surroundings. Four smaller plans show the main streets of Galle, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura and Negombo.
