This is the only available reproduction of a London map from the mid 20th century. It measures 70x100cm, and depicts the centre of the capital on the eve of the Festival of Britain.
Coverage extends from Chalk Farm in the north to the northern edge of Clapham Common in the south, and from Chiswick Common in the west to Shadwell Basin in the east. Many notable buildings are distinguished eg. hospitals, museums and institutions. In addition to railway lines, the tube system routes are traced by red lines, and trolleybus routes are also marked.
Scale is equivalent to 4" to 1 mile.
