This 750 piece jigsaw displays a reproduction of John Speed's "New and Accurate Map of the World" of 1627. In its first edition this was one of the earliest world maps to show the famous misconception of California as an island.
It is also renowned for its lively decoration, including symbolic figures of the four elements and portraits of the explorers Drake, Cavendish, Van Noort and Magellan.
When completed the puzzle measures 49x59 cm (19.2x23.2 inches).
The box is 30x5x21 cm (12x2x8.25 inches).
