Indexed tourist map of the country with additional street plans and enlargements of national parks, reserves and popular regions. Road detail distinguishes untarred roads and includes selected tracks and minor roads, and shows intermediate driving distances on main routes. Locations where petrol stations can be found are also indicated, and scenic routes are highlighted. Railways and airports are marked, also some ferry routes. The publisher’s preferred approach to conveying most effectively the best routes to the locations and regions of interest, is to reduce distracting details. Consequently, compared with some other maps for the same region, this map shows no elaborate representation of general relief, although highland areas are indicated and named, and some peak heights are marked. Swamp regions are marked, and reserves and national parks are clearly highlighted. Province names and boundaries are included and symbols show places of interest, ruins, caves, selected hotels, lodges, campsites and border posts. No latitude and longitude lines are marked. The map is indexed and annotated with regional climate information charts, and includes a distance chart. Inset is a street plan of Dar es Salaam, indexed for streets and showing hotels, the information office, churches and other landmarks.

On the reverse are enlargements of several areas of interest: Serengeti, Tarangire, Mikumi and Arusha, Lake Manyara national parks, Ngorongoro conservation area, Selous game reserve, Lake Tanganyika, Mt Kilimanjaro, showing park gates, hotels, lodges etc. Also there are maps of the Tanzam Highway, and Pemba and Zanzibar islands and several street plans: Mwanza, Tanga, Morogoro, Mbeya, Arusha, Zanzibar (Stone Town) and a more generalized road map of the greater Dar es Salaam area. These show local sites of interest, notable buildings, and visitor facities e.g. hotels, car parks, post offices and information centres.
