About this series:
Admiralty Leisure has launched its new electronic chart plotter series, with a host of new features, making it the perfect introduction to electronic navigation which can be learnt in just ten minutes.
Each CD comes with an average of 18 ARCS (Admiralty Raster Chart Service) and navigational software packaged together covering 12 areas around the British Isles. Developed in conjunction with the RYA - the world's leading provider of training courses for recreational and professional boating, this product uses the same interface that appears in the RYA Yachtmaster training programme.
Features include Tidal Height Predictions for 2006, providing an interactive full harmonic tidal height predictor simply by clicking on the tide icon. Real Time navigation is at your fingertips, simply by connecting the chart plotter to a GPS enables users to track their vessel across the chart in real time, an important safety feature and ultimately freeing up time.
The new features are:
Enhanced Route Planning - using the tidal height and stream data to automatically correct a planned route and provide course-to-steer (CTS).
Easy Chart Selection - simply by right clicking on the chart, the user can easily select the next larger/smaller/same scale chart at the cursor position.
Chart Expiry and Updating - the charts contained in each pack do not expire, however, it is recommended that users update annually, as users cannot update charts.
Improved Chart Coverage - which can simply be extended by purchasing additional CDs from the sailing areas around the UK .
Tidal Height Prediction - can be made for standard and secondary ports contained within each chart park.
Other features include: easy waypoint entry; easy route creation; avoidance zones; electronic bearing and distance lines; directional planning arrows and large buttons.
Designed to run on the following operating systems: Windows 98, 98SE, Millenium, NT version 4, Service Pack 4, 2000 and XP.
Minimum Functional spec of 200Mhz processor, 64Mb Free RAM, CD ROM, 300Mb Free Disk Space, 16 bit Colour Display. For best performance - 500Mhz processor of faster and 128 Mb of free RAM.
