Revised in 2006 and presenting 260 pages of clear continental and regional maps with very good place name and topographic detail. The mapping is similar to the Collins Atlas, but with more subdued borders and subtler altitude colouring. There are also more maps, providing extra detail for North America, Europe and parts of South America, Africa and the far east. The atlas is arranged by continent with a political map at the start of each section. Also included throughout the atlas are plans of 32 of the world's main cities.

Complementing the maps is the introductory section of thematic and statistical information which includes such topics as world population, urbanisation, climate, the environment and telecommunications. There is also a concise country by country gazetteer with basic facts, illustrations of the national flags and short descriptions. The index lists over 130,000 place names, which are fully cross-referenced with alternative and former names.
