Stanfords helped a new medical charity by providing prizes for a fund-raising auction and raffle on its launch night.
As part of the prestigious evening that marked the inauguration of the Medic to Medic programme, guests, including doctors and others from the international health community, bid for The Times Comprehensive Atlas, amongst other luxurious prizes such as a designer handbag and spa day. The Atlas raised an impressive £250 in the auction and guests also bought raffle tickets for Stanfords vouchers and an Insight World Atlas.
The Medic to Medic Programme is a new charity which sponsors trainee doctors in developing countries – they aim to guarantee the tuition fees for able but poor medical students until graduation.
This year, the charity will help 15 medical students in Malawi, and the Malawian High Commissioner, Dr Francis Moto, attended the event in Bloomsbury, London.
