Stanfords employee abseils down world's tallest hospital building

Martyn Abseil Challenge

Our Stanfords branch supply officer, Martyn Bearfoot, completed an amazing feat against vertigo when he abseiled down the side of the world's tallest hospital building.

Having been advised to take the descent slowly in 10-15 minutes, Martyn sailed down the 469ft Guy’s Hospital Tower, London in just 1 minute 52 seconds.

He took part in the challenge to raise funds for CLIC Sargent's support work for children with cancer and their families.

Clic SargentMartyn said: “It was a great experience – I could see a number of my favourite pubs! And it felt good to be helping such a worthy cause. I’m now looking forward to Canary Wharf next year!”

Donate to the cause online here: www.justgiving.com/martynbearfoot. Martyn’s sponsorship page is open until August.
