One of the titles in a series of hiking Turkart maps at 1:25,000 with cartography based on the Norwegian 1:50,000 topographic survey. Contours are drawn at 20m intervals. Overprint varies but includes local footpaths, in some cases distinguishing between easy trails and more difficult ones, as well as mountain huts and campsites. Many titles also indicate cycle or ski routes, other accommodation possibilities, sport and recreational facilities, including alpine skiing slopes, places of interest, etc. The maps have a UTM grid and margin ticks giving latitude and longitude. Map legend includes English. Several titles have on the reverse additional tourist information, although in most cases in Norwegian only. NB. Norway’s national survey organization, previously known as Statens Kartverk, is now part of the Ugland IT Group and more recent editions appear under that name.

In this title: the map covers the whole of Gjende lake, and includes Bessvatnet to the north and the ice fields lying to the south. Footpaths, ski trails, campsites, cabins and grocery stores are among the many recreational and tourist facilities highlighted. Approximate walking times are indicated for marked footpaths.
