Clear, indexed road maps at scales varying between 1:650,000 and 1:1,700,000. The maps show six classes of roads, including unsurfaced tracks, indicating difficult or dangerous sections. Toll barriers, major petrol stations and traffic police stations are shown, with intermediate distances marked in km. Railways, local airports and aerodromes (indicating those with regular services), ports, and state boundaries also shown. There is no information on topography beyond occasional spot heights plus the rivers and lakes network, but national parks and other protected areas are highlighted. The maps also highlight places of interest. . Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at intervals of 1° to 15’ depending on the map scale.

A common feature is the inclusion of linear diagrams of major routes, showing main connections, towns, services, distances, etc. Each map includes an indexed street plan of the capital of the state, and basic main road plans of other larger towns. These indicate bus terminals and a few notable sites. A road distance chart is also included. All text, including the map legend, is in Portuguese only.
