Road classification ranges from motorways to secondary roads. Driving distances between selected points are shown on the map and where a road meets an edge of the map, the distance to the next town is stated in the margin. Car-ferries, airports, airfields, border control points and railways are also marked. Selected castles, ruins, churches, skiing areas and other places of interest are marked with symbols and restricted areas and national/nature parks are clearly highlighted. A clear impression of the general relief is provided by hill shading and spot heights are stated for mountain peaks. High passes are marked and there is an indication of roads not suitable for caravans.

Several pages of smaller scale maps highlight the motorway network throughout central Europe. A diagram shows the high-speed railways connections in and around Germany, and there are maps of the ferry links off the north coast, annotated to show contact details for the ferry operators.
There are also over 40 indexed, city-centre street plans at 1:15,000, and for 16 cities and conurbations there are 1:100,000 regional maps showing the major communications.
Finally, there is a 14-page road atlas section at 1:4,000,000 covering the Alps region.
