A practical guide to the walks, with small but detailed maps for all the walks. The front of the book lists all the walks in a table with at-a-glance notation as to Type (valley, ridge, and foothill), Length (in miles), Suitability (novice to expert), Views, and Swimming possiblities etc. A main map shows the main areas covered by each chapter. Each chapter then starts with an enlarged map of that area with the walks identified on it. The walks themselves are described in a sparse straightforward manner with text at the end with any extra notes (equally short). Apart from the maps the centre of the book has eight pages of colour photographs showing general views and a few of the walks. A practical walking-guide in most senses of the word so other books would be required if for example you are interested in the flora of the island etc. That aside there are few other guides that could lead into the heart of an unspoilt Hawaiian island by 53 routes.
