Large road map of the subcontinent with the Maldives displayed in an inset. The coverage extends as far west as the Iranian border, east to the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Martaban off Burma, and as far north as the northern border of Afghanistan.

The base map uses some hill-shading to portray the relief. Heights of significant peaks are indicated and many rivers, lakes and highland ranges are named. The cartography attempts to graphically distinguish landscape types but the map legend neglects to identify these elements - the only obvious type is marshland. Communication detail includes major railways, ferry routes and airports, and intermediate driving distances are indicated on main roads. No distinction is made between surfaced and unsurfaced main roads, although some minor routes are classed as tracks. Where main roads meet the edge of the map the distance to next major location is stated. National parks, reserves and international boundaries are marked and coloured symbols highlight selected sites of interest. Latitude & longitude lines are drawn at 2° intervals.

The map is indexed in an attached booklet and also includes street plans of central Kathmandu, Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai. These are also indexed and show details such as bus & railway stations, information offices, hospitals. post offices & places of worship.
