The cartography has colour shading for easy identification of hills and valleys, with detailed crag information for climbers. All roads, footpaths and rights of way or shown, as are car parks, caravan sites, youth hostels and mountain rescue posts.

The reverse of the map contains: large scale enlargements of Scafell and Pillar, both at 1:15,000; geological maps of the lake district, mountain incident and first aid advice; tips on navigation and useful local phone numbers and websites.

The maps is printed on polyethylene and so is durable, tear-resistant and 100% waterproof.
