A selection of hut based climbs at both high and low altitude. Many of the popular routes are described in detail. More remote routes are described in less detail, reflecting the fact that these are for the more experienced climber looking to get away from the crowds and able to make his or her own choices about the exact route to follow. This volume covers the area north of the France/Italy border and also mountains on the France/Switzerland border. Ranges covered: Chamonix Aiguilles, Aguilles Rouges, Col de Talèfre to Swiss Val Ferret.
About this series:
Compact and portable mountain climbing guides. Each guide is organised by mountain group, with individual ascents described and graded by difficulty. Photographs are included, with recommended routes superimposed. General information is also included about the local area. Vinyl covered for durability.
Raised relief map of Mont Blanc:
Institute Géographique National, French national survey organization, is renowned for their excellent series of 3-D plastic maps, including a spectacular map of the Mont Blanc massif at 1:50,000 of both the horizontal and, unsusually for such maps, the vertical scale. Coverage of the whole of the French Alps is available at a variety of scales. Unfortunately, due to frequent damage in transit to our customers, we are unable to offer these maps on our website. The Mont Blanc map is available as regular stock, and all others can be ordered for collection from our London shop. Please contact us by e-mail for a full list of titles.
