Large format, spiral-bound touring atlas with 75 street plans. The cartography is essentially the same as that in this publisher’s 5 map series for the country. Subtle hill-shading and spot heights are used to represent Norway's mountainous terrain. Forested areas are coloured in green, and ice field areas are distinguished. Road detail includes some minor tracks and intermediate distances are marked on main routes. Toll roads and road closures are marked, and there is an indication of some tourist trails (with walking times) and approved snow scooter tracks across Troms and Finnmark. Railways, car ferries and airports are included. An impressive range of symbols denote accommodation types including, hotels, campsites, hostels and cabins, along with sites of interest and antiquities, churches, deserted settlements, viewpoints, waterfalls, lighthouses, skilifts and bird colonies. County and commune boundaries are marked and national parks are shown. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 15’ and 30’ intervals respectively. The map legend includes English.
Following the main atlas section, which is indexed for about 40,000 locations, is a collection of 75 street plans for towns and city centres. These show a great variety of details eg. pedestrian zones, footpaths, one-way streets, cycle tracks, one-way streets, ferries, railways, sites of interest, public buildings, car parks, taxi ranks, tourist information offices, accommodation, etc.
