Now in its seventh edition, this is the original Bradt guide, first written by Hilary Bradt on a river barge in Bolivia in 1974. Dozens of hikes are detailed, from short one day walks to longer seven or eight day hikes. Each hike is described in detail, with a summary giving distance, altitude, approximate timing and a grade according to how difficult the author considers the hike to be. All the main areas are covered: Cajamarca and Chachapoyas regions, The Cordilleras Blanca, Negra and Huayhuash, Cusco, Paracas, La Paz, Lake Titicaca, The Cordillera Real, Sorata, Illampu and the Tipuani Valley, to name just a few.
