Swiss photographer Thomas Marent spent 16 years travelling over five continents visiting the world’s rainforests, from Peru and Ecuador to New Zealand, Borneo and Papua New Guinea. Usually alone, he would wait an agonising amount of time to get the perfect picture - sometimes up to twelve days - before capturing detail and grace in every photograph.
The result is a beautiful a breathtaking collection of 500 animal and plant portrait, presented together with the stories behind them. Butterflies, frogs, fungi, birds, monkeys and weird insects, to name a few, all have the lens focussed on them. His love affair with the rainforests has resulted in an invaluable survey of the abundance and diversity found within the fragile ecosystems.
