Detailed topographic map depicting the Snæfellsnes peninsula, extending north to Klofningur, south to Akrar and as far east as Hítárvatn Lake. Contours at 20m intervals and spot heights present the relief, with various type of terrain and land use indicated: cultivated land, birch woodland, wetlands, sand, and lava fields. Local roads indicate hard or gravel surface and tracks, footpaths and bridleways are marked. Symbols show various tourist facilities and places of interest, including tourist information offices, hotels, campsites, tourist huts or shelters, emergency shelters, community centres, restaurants, swimming pools, boat trip and whale watching services, etc. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 4’ and 6' intervals respectively.
On the reverse the map has simple street plans of Stykkishólmur, Ólafsvík, Grundarfjörður, Hellisandur and Rif. Also included is a geological map of the peninsula, an aerial photo of the Snæfellsjökull, a distance table, and notes on various local attractions. Map legends and all the text include English.
