One of the titles in a series of tourist maps covering a selection of France’s administrative departments, produced by the Institut Géographique National in collaboration with the local authorities to highlight different types of accommodation, centres of local produce and handicraft, places of interest, various leisure and sport facilities, as well as local footpaths, the GR routes, etc. Each map has the same number as the department, corresponding to the first two digits of its postal code. Cartography and tourist overprint vary - please see individual entries for more detailed descriptions and samples of cartography.
On this map: the department is shown with bold relief shading. The overprint highlights the long-distance GR paths and recommended cycling routes. Symbols mark towns and villages of particular interest, castles, churches and other notable buildings, local markets, sport and leisure facilities, etc. The map also includes a distance table and small street plans showing road access to the centres of Avignon, Apt, Carpentras, Cavaillon, Orange, and Vaison-la-Romaine, all annotated with places of interest.
