Depicts the Royal Mail steamship routes that carried the majority of the UK's international mail during the 1930s, framed by some illustrations of the transport links through which the post would pass.
Mail Steamship Routes map of the world is a reproduction by the Old House Books of a decorative poster from 1937, commissioned by the General Post Office to show the steamship routes that carried the majority of UK’s international mail during the 1930s.

Drawn by the artist Leslie MacDonald (‘Max’) Gill, the map is centred on the British Isles and indicates Britain’s dominions and colonies. Decorative panels emphasize the modern image of the Post Office – modern uniforms and vans, quayside facilities, etc and present images of significant ships from the days of King Alfred to SS Great Eastern and RMS Queen Mary.

This reproduction is presented in an elegant card cover with notes about the map and the artist Max Gill.

Please note: this title is also available as a wall map.
