Confraternity of St. James
Caminos del Norte: Ruta de la Costa, Irun - Villaviciosa guide from the Confraternity of Saint James covers the eastern section of the pilgrim route along the Bay of Biscay coast of Spain between the Pyrenees and Villaviciosa where the route divides and either continues along the coast (see guide 4A-2) or goes inland as Camino Primitivo (see guide 4F).
The guide provides instructions for following this less well waymarked route with, where appropriate, alternatives for cyclists and includes details of accommodation options. No maps are provided. Current edition of this title was published in 2013.
The Confraternity of St James is a non-denominational registered charity founded in 1983 to promote the pilgrim routes to Santiago de Compostela and to foster research about them in Britain. In addition to publishing pocket guides to the routes it also runs two refuges for pilgrims (at Rabanal del Camino on the Camino Francés and Miraz on the Camino del Norte) as well as provides assistance to elderly, frail or disable people who might otherwise be unable to undertake the pilgrimage.
