Canberra and Region Hema

Canberra and Region in a series of maps from Hema presenting Australia’s main cities with three maps: a detailed street plan of the central area, a road map of the city with its outer suburbs, plus a map of the wider surrounding region for out-of-town excursions.

The Canberra map has a street plan of town centre of Canberra City, annotated with 68 places of interest and 37 accommodation options. The map of Canberra’s suburbs at 1:53,715 is indexed and show postcodes, 24-hour fuel stations, etc. Two more panels cover the Australian Capital Territory (1:375,000) and the wider surrounding region of New South Wales including the Kosciuszko National Park (1:850,000). The regional maps show the road network indicating unsurfaced roads and tracks. Symbols mark roadside rest areas, campsites, various places of interest, etc. Topography is indicates by names of mountain ranges and selected peaks, plus rivers and lakes; national and state parks, conservation areas and reserves are all highlighted.
