Central Queensland: From Hervey Bay to Mackay, Australia | Hema Explorer Map | 1:1,000,000

Central Queensland coast along the Great Barrier Reef Coast Marine Park, from Hervey Bay and Fraser Island in the south to Mackay in the north, on an indexed road map at 1:750,000 from Hema, with five enlargements of the region’s most visited area, a table of facilities in national parks, plus other tourist information.



Coverage extends inland along the Capricorn Highway well beyond Emerald. Topography is well presented by relief shading with plenty of names of mountain ranges, peaks, etc, plus colouring and/or graphics for areas liable to inundation, mangrove swamps, national parks and other protected or restricted entry areas, etc. Within the Great Barrier Reef Coast National Park numerous small islands and coral reefs are named. Road network indicates unsealed roads, includes rough 4WD tracks, clearly shows road numbers and names, and gives locations of fuel supply points. Railway lines are shown with stations and airports/airfields/airstrips are marked. Symbols indicate tourist information centres, various overnight accommodation facilities, roadside rest areas, viewpoints, wineries, etc. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 30’ intervals. The index has a separate list of places of interest.



On the reverse side five of the region’s most visited areas are presented in greater detail and with more information on tourist facilities: the Capricorn Coast with Rockhampton, the coast around Gladstone with Curtis Island, the environs of Hervey Bay and of Bundaberg, plus the Gemfields area west of Emerald. Also provided is a table showing tourist facilities in the region’s national parks, a list of contact details for Visitor Information Centres, plus extensive notes about places of interest illustrated with colour photos.
