Chalkidiki (Halkidiki) Peninsula, including Mount Athos, on a light, waterproof and tear-resistant, indexed and GPS-compatible road map at 1:125,000 from the Terrain Editions, with on the reverse a street plan of central Thessaloniki.
On one side is a road map of the Chalkidiki Peninsula with coverage extending west to the outskirts of Thessaloniki. Topography is shown by contours at 100m intervals plus spot heights and light, unobtrusive relief shading. Road network indicates unpaved roads in poor condition, shows driving distances on all roads plus locations of petrol stations and repair workshops, and prominently highlights scenic routes. Symbols indicate various places of interest including campsites and mountain refuges, beaches and scuba diving sites, monasteries and archaeological remains, etc. The map has a 5km UTM grid, plus margin ticks and crosshairs at 5’ intervals. Place names are in both Greek and Latin alphabet, with both versions listed in a duel index which also includes lists of monasteries and archaeological sites.
On the reverse is a large, very clear street plan of central Thessaloniki (scale not shown). The plan highlights main traffic arteries and shows one-way and restricted entry streets, plus car parks. Streets are annotated with selected house numbers for easier identification of addresses. Symbols highlight locations of various facilities and places of interest including selected hotels, museums, post offices, etc. Names of main streets are in both Greek and Latin alphabets, smaller streets are in Greek alphabet only – names of main sights and hotels are in Latin alphabet, the rest is mostly in Greek. Map legends for both the road map and the street plan include English.
