France: IGN Top 75

The TOP 75 maps are ideal for discovering exceptional regions (Natural parks, famous mountain ranges, etc.). Thanks to their 1:75,000 scale mapping, outdoor activity enthusiasts and lovers of cultural and historical heritage will be able to practice their favorite hobbies. These maps also include 5 extracts at a scale of 1:25,000 allowing you to hike in exceptional natural sites.

The IGN TOP75 maps are tailor-made for fans of outdoor activities and lovers of the cultural and historical heritage of our regions.

The complete representation of the road network (motorway, main, secondary and local) allows easy access:

  • to the many outdoor activity sites (hiking departure points, free flight, climbing sites, etc.),
  • to cultural and historical riches (chapels, castles, caves, museums, leisure parks, etc.),
  • The many two-wheel enthusiasts will be able to define different circuits adapted to their level, thanks to the presence of dedicated cycle paths and the entire road network.

The altitude indications provided by the contour lines and the elevation points will allow you to assess the difficulty of the routes.

The TOP75 maps are particularly suitable for hiking, all the necessary information is represented there:

  • the local network of roads, GR® and GR® de pays de la FFrandonnée to define your route and find your way around easily,
  • contour lines, spot heights, rocky areas and glaciers to estimate difficulty,
  • stopover lodges and refuges to mark the different stages of the route,
  • tourist and cultural information available along the route (viewpoints, remarkable buildings, castles, caves, etc.) to enhance your hike,
  • GPS grid, to locate on the map the position (in X and Y) provided by a GPS.

5 excerpts from TOP 25 (at a scale of 1:25000) are integrated into each TOP 75 to practice 1 or 2 day hikes in exceptional sites. The IGN cartography at a scale of 1:25000 is recognized for its precision by the most demanding hikers and mountaineers, offering a perfect compromise.
