Chamonix Mountain Adventures

Chamonix Mountain Adventures guide from Cirerone Press presenting recreational options in the surrounding part of the French Alps ranging from short walks and cycle rides for the whole family to long mountaineering routes to the summits.

The guide is divided in chapters on walks (classic, family, hut and adventure), alpine mountaineering, mountain biking, road biking, rock climbing and bouldering, plus via ferrata routes. Each recommendation has a detailed description accompanied by an information panel (distance, grade, etc) and, as appropriate, a basic sketch map or a crag diagram. Map recommendations from the publishers list relevant sheets from IGN’s 1:25,000 topographic survey also available from Stanfords’ website.

An introductory section gives general information about the region and tips for visitors; appendices provide a list of useful contacts, a basic phrasebook, information on glacier travel and rescue techniques, etc.
