World CartDeco Political Wall Map

The Earth Wall Map by CartDeco has been five years in the making, going through many iterations and checks to make this one of the finest map of our planet on the market. The details have been meticulously checked with an emphasis on including indigenous place names where appropriate, in particular in Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Current scientific research has informed some of the features shown on the map, which is not available in any other dataset. For example the results of recent Five Deeps Expedition the manned exploration of the deepest points in the Earth’s five oceans have been included on the map, as well as the discovery and naming of the submerged continent of Zealandia.

Whilst showing the extreme depths of the oceans, also shown are the extreme points of continents - heights, easterly, westerly, northerly and southerly.

Attention has especially been paid to the legibility of the map. A clear visual hierarchy of features has been established country labels dominate and can seen from a distance, which is perfect for a wall map. City and town labels are clearly categorised and graduated by population size, whilst care and attention has been placed on bathymetric and topographic detail, making this map a combination of a political and physical map.

Abbreviations used on the map have been neatly referenced along with tables for French and British overseas territories.

To better represent the Arctic and Antarctic, these polar regions have been displayed with their own unique stereographic projection. The main map is displayed using the Robinson projection, which is neither equal area nor conformal, allowing for more detail to be seen in the polar regions.

The Earth map also includes a useful time zone reference and a population density map (based on 2020 data).

The vibrant colour palette make this product stand out from the crowd and work with modern interior designs. Not only will the map be a great reference source, but it will also be a great conversation starter, be it situated in an office, boardroom, class room or living room.
